How would you search for an exact word or phrase?

For the occasions when you want to search for very specific words, you can use the Verbatim tool so that Google searches using the exact words you entered. For example, if you're searching for the phrase to be or not to be, Verbatim mode will only return websites that have all of those words in that exact order, instead of sites that have those words somewhere on the page.

How to use Verbatim mode

1. On the search results page for your query, click Search tools. 
2. Click All Results.
3. Click Verbatim. 

How would you search for something on a specific site?

 Use your Browser's FIND function.

It's under the EDIT Menu (top of page)

How would you correctly search for a definition?

Google has a built in feature where it recognizes your need to understand the word you’ve searched. Alternatively it is equally as easy to search for an online dictionary to help find the definition you are looking for

How would you search for a specific product available within a specific price range?

 

In “Advanced search” you can specify numbers that you want included in your search inquiries, which in turn could let you narrow in on a price range within your search.

How would you search for a specific filetype?
Under “Advanced search” there is a drop-down menu to specify a filetype that you are looking for in your search.

How would you include or ignore words in your search?

If you want words included or ignored in your search, there are two designated text boxes in the “Advanced search” feature.

How would you find related pages?

Google generates related pages which are located at the bottom of the page on Google.

How would you find a topic, searching all available synonyms of a word?

To find a topic based off of synonyms of the word, usually Google generates synonyms based on your searches, and based off your previous history, is able to determine the topic you are searching for.

How would you find the time in another country?
You can find the time in another country by simply searching “what time is it in ______” and google delivers on the result.
