How would you search for an exact word or phrase?
For the occasions when you want to search for very specific words, you can use the Verbatim tool so that Google searches using the exact words you entered. For example, if you're searching for the phrase
to be or not to be,
Verbatim mode will only return websites that have all of those words in
that exact order, instead of sites that have those words somewhere on
the page.How to use Verbatim mode
- On the search results page for your query, click Search tools.
- Click All Results.
- Click Verbatim.
